Terms of Use
The short version
Dad Bank helps families keep track of pretend money and learn how saving works. It isn't a bank, it never holds real money, and it isn't financial advice. We built it carefully, but we can't promise perfection, and our liability is limited. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and WristSkill Labs, LLC ("we", "us") about the Dad Bank app ("the app") and these pages. By using them, you agree to these terms.
2. Not a bank, not financial advice
Dad Bank is a family ledger and educational tool. It does not hold, move, invest or insure money; it isn't a bank, money transmitter, lender or investment service; and it offers no credit. "Interest", "allowance", "cash out" and "borrowing" in the app are pretend amounts that a parent sets and records. Any real money changes hands between family members, outside the app. Nothing in the app is financial, legal or tax advice.
3. Parents are in charge
The app is meant to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. You are responsible for the profiles you create, the amounts you record, keeping your phone and passcodes secure, and keeping backups. If you're under 18, use the app with a parent or guardian.
4. Your data
Your family's data stays on your devices and in places you choose, as described in the Privacy Policy. Because we don't have a copy, we can't recover data that is lost when a phone and all its backups are gone.
5. Purchases and Apple
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, and your license is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Dad Bank Plus is a one-time purchase handled by Apple, including refunds.
6. Fair use
Don't try to break, reverse-engineer or misuse the app, and don't use it for anything unlawful.
7. Intellectual property
The Dad Bank name, Buck the piggy bank, artwork, copy and software belong to WristSkill Labs, LLC. Please don't reproduce them without permission.
8. No warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WristSkill Labs, LLC and its members will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost data or financial loss, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50). Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law allows.
10. Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its date. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
