Common questions

Where is my family's data?

On your phone. There are no accounts and no Dad Bank servers. See the privacy policy for exactly where copies go.

How do I move to a new phone?

Install Dad Bank on the new phone. If iCloud backup was on, the setup screen offers to restore your family. You can also tap "Restore from a backup file", or, with Dad Bank Plus, "Restore from a kid's phone". Backups don't include PINs, so you'll set new PINs for your kids afterward.

My kid forgot their PIN.

Unlock parent mode, open your kid's page, and tap Reset PIN. You don't need the old one.

Why does allowance or interest show up when I open the app?

Dad Bank adds anything that came due while the app was closed the next time you open it. Each payday and interest period is only ever added once.

How do kid phones work? (Dad Bank Plus)

On your kid's page, tap Kid's phone to show a code. On your kid's phone, tap "This is my kid's phone" and scan it. Both phones need Dad Bank open on the same Wi-Fi to sync.

How do I restore Dad Bank Plus?

Settings → Dad Bank Plus → Restore purchase, signed into the same Apple Account. Plus is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

How do I erase everything?

Settings → Erase Dad Bank from this phone. The privacy policy lists every step.

Dad Bank is not a bank. It keeps score; the real money stays with you.
