A pretend bank for your kids.

Real lessons, no real money.

Keep a family ledger for each kid: allowance, interest, cash-outs and a savings goal. The real money stays with you. There are no accounts and no servers, and the ledger lives on your phone.

How it works

A kid's screen in Dad Bank: $21.00, what they put in, what their money earned, and a savings goal for a bike

Their own pretend bank

Kids tap their picture and enter their PIN to see their balance, what they put in, what their money earned, and how close they are to their goal.

A Dad Bank sheet with Buck cheering: Wait... your money made money? $1.00

Money that makes money

Pick an interest rate, weekly or monthly, and Dad Bank adds it for them. Kids get to see what leaving money alone does.

The parent screen in Dad Bank: Emma wants to cash out $5.00, with Approve and Decline buttons

They ask. You approve.

Kids ask to cash out, and you approve or decline. Allowance lands on payday by itself, and you can add a bonus any time.

The fine print, up front

  • No accounts, no servers. Your family's ledger lives on your phone. Backups go where you send them: a file you save, or your own iCloud or Google account.
  • No ads, no tracking. The app has no ads, no analytics and nothing that reports back to us.
  • Not a bank. Dad Bank never holds, moves or invests real money. It keeps score; the real money stays with you.
  • Free to start. The kid app is free to install. Dad Bank Plus is a one-time purchase on the parent's phone that adds pairing a kid's own phone, a "when can I afford it?" planner, and pretend borrowing with a cost you set.
