Jack Steel's Protein Tracker
Terms of Use
The short version
Use the site and the app for what they're for: tracking a habit and reading general information. Nothing here is medical advice, and the free tools show you what published research says — they don't tell you what to do. We built this carefully, but we can't promise perfection, and our liability to you is limited. If you don't agree with these terms, don't use the site or the app.
1. Who we are, and what these terms cover
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and WristSkill Labs, LLC ("we", "us"). They cover:
- The Jack Steel's Protein Tracker pages on wristskill.com, including free tools such as the interactive demo (together, "the site"), and
- Your use of the Jack Steel's Protein Tracker iOS app ("the app"), except where Apple's terms apply — see section 6.
By using the site or the app, you agree to these terms.
2. Not medical advice
The app and the site are for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes only. They do not provide medical, nutritional, or dietetic advice; they are not a medical device; and they do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Nothing on the site or in the app is a personalized recommendation or a prescription.
Talk to a physician, dietitian, or other qualified health provider before changing your diet. That matters most if you have a medical condition — including kidney or liver disease — are pregnant or nursing, have a history of disordered eating, or are under 18.
Neither the site nor the app calculates or recommends a protein amount for you. The interactive demo on this site animates a number you type and nothing more; in the app, you choose your own goal and the app only tracks it.
3. Your responsibilities
- Decisions about what you eat are yours and your health provider's. Don't use the site or the app as a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Use the site and the app as they are meant to be used. Don't try to break, overload, scrape, or interfere with them, and don't misrepresent your affiliation with us.
- If you are under 18, use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
4. Intellectual property
The Jack Steel name, character, artwork, branding, copy, and software are the property of WristSkill Labs, LLC. Don't reproduce them or pass them off as your own without our written permission.
The nutrition science itself belongs to everyone: dietary reference values and published gram-per-kilogram ranges are facts from the scientific literature, and we claim no ownership of them — only of our presentation.
5. The free tools
Free tools on this site, including the interactive demo, run entirely in your browser. We provide them as-is, free of charge, and we may change or remove them at any time. They collect nothing about you and tell you nothing about what to eat.
6. The app, purchases, and Apple
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, and your license to use it is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple handles all payment, subscription management, and refunds under its own terms; prices shown in the App Store are the authoritative ones. How subscriptions renew and cancel is described in the Privacy Policy and in the App Store listing.
7. No warranties
The site and the app are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We work to keep the content accurate and the software reliable, but we can't guarantee either.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WristSkill Labs, LLC and its members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including damages for personal injury, health outcomes, lost profits, or lost data — arising out of or related to your use of the site or the app, even if we have been advised such damages are possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site or the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so parts of the two sections above may not apply to you. In those places, our warranties and liability are limited to the smallest extent the law allows.
9. Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the site or the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
